Nursery
Ascension's nursery program focuses on the spiritual life of our youngest parishioners.  From birth through age three, the nursery staff nurtures, plays with, and teaches children to become familiar with God through stories, simple arts and crafts, and play.  We use an Episcopal learning program called “Let the Children Come” with our toddlers, while babies and infants enjoy exploring, cuddling, and lots of love in our infant room.  The nursery is open every Sunday during the program year from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00.   During the summer it is open from 10:00am to 12:00. Reserving Nursery or Childcare for Special Events
If you are planning a church event, and would like to offer childcare, please download the Childcare Request Form, and return it to the church office at least two weeks before your event, so we may make sure we are adequately staffed for your event.  For more information on reserving childcare, please contact Mitzi Terry-Cochran, Nursery Director at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Volunteers
Ascension's nursery is staffed by paid, trained workers, supervised by our Nursery Director. However,  we do always invite and welcome adults in our church community to assist by volunteering in this ministry.  Teenagers and pre-teens who have a passion for children are also welcome to help out in Ascension's nursery, but must complete a training program first.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Mitzi Terry-Cochran, Nursery Director at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Date Night
On the first Friday of every month from 5:30pm to 8:30pm the nursery is open for parents to drop off their children and enjoy an evening out or just some quiet time by themselves.  Fellowship with other couples in the church is usually offered and is completely optional.  Children ages from birth to 12 years old will enjoy pizza, movies, playing outside, games, and fun with their friends.  If you would like to attend a Date Night, please be sure to RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
